Natural Treatments for Fibromyalgia Pain

Fibromyalgia has many in  constant pain but there is a natural treatment that brings pain relief – the Trager Approach. The success of the Trager Approach is in its gentle style. Clients do not feel pain during a session like they sometimes do in traditional massage. That’s because the session is focused on rebalancing the body/mind so the system goes back to a relaxed state of being.

Simple Relief for Neck Pain

open palm of a hand with small rocksMy latest favorite ‘cure all’ for neck pain, upper back and headache is this: Lay back flat on bed, floor or couch; you may have a small towel roll under your neck. And simply lay your forearm across your forehead in such a way that it just rests there. Feel the weight of your head sinking back and the weight of your arm, and just wait a minute or two. You will soon feel the wave of relaxation cascade down neck, shoulders and back. Then you may want to smile. What’s happening is you are sending a message to your neck that says “You’re not going anywhere!”, so it just decides to give up it’s tension.

Best Practices for Relieving Neck Pain

photo of the side of person's neckPosture is the most important determinant for the comfort of your neck. The goal is for your head to be balanced over the center of your skeleton. And it’s more about ‘Zipping Up’ as in the posture assumed when you ‘Zip Up’ your jacket. Your chest lengthens and opens up and your chin is level and your shoulders are relaxed. Do this standing, sitting, walking, working – as much as possible.
