Betsy Oldenburg will be offering her new book: A Fresh Take on Ergonomics, avoiding Pain in the Workplace, iUniverse Publishing, 2015.
Learn to manage neck, back and shoulder pain
“A Fresh Take on Ergonomics” (published by iUniverse) written by Betsy Oldenburg, is an innovative guide to managing neck, back and shoulder pain with simple modifications of posture, seating and balance. Her unique experience as a Trager Movement Education Practitioner and Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist for 30 years has given her significant insights into how to eliminate, or manage the aches and pains that plague many adults in a myriad of professions. This approach differs radically from traditional ergonomic thought and theory. She places more importance on body alignment than on typical office furniture. A few of her helpful hints were inspired by other sources, but her approach is proven and uniquely her own.
“I want to emphasize that my suggestions for stretches and other movement practices here are in no way comprehensive,” Oldenburg says. “My main focus is for you to understand the importance of getting your body out of collapse whenever and wherever possible, and to share easy ways to find balance.”
